Our Expressways

Let your journey unfold through our vast network of expressways.

North-South Expressway (NSE)

Officiated in 1994, the North-South Expressway (NSE) was constructed to alleviate the significant congestion on the federal route and is a technical feat reflecting Malaysia’s emergence onto the world stage.
ย
Spanning 748km across the western coast of Peninsular Malaysia, your safety and connectivity are at the core of our mission. The NSE provides 112 strategic interchanges, including 28 in the Klang Valley, along with live traffic monitoring for you to anticipate the road ahead.
ย
As you begin your journey on our dual carriageway expressway, the NSE opens up against the backdrop of vast paddy fields in Kedah, the cultural heritages of Penang and Perak, Klang Valley with Kuala Lumpur at its heart, the majestic histories of Negeri Sembilan and Malacca, and the cosmopolitan charms of Johor, inviting you to explore the beauty of Peninsular Malaysia.

New Klang Valley Expressway (NKVE)

Fully completed in 1993, the 35km New Klang Valley Expressway (NKVE) was built to accommodate the growing population of Klang Valley and the resulting traffic congestion during rush hour between Kuala Lumpur and Klang.

ย

With a fourth lane spanning from Shah Alam to Jalan Duta and a strategic interchange directly connecting to the North-South Expressway (NSE) at Bukit Lanjan, the NKVE serves as the gateway to explore the urban centres of Petaling Jaya, Subang, Damansara, Sungai Buloh, and Klang in the Greater Kuala Lumpur area.
ย
As you travel along the NKVE, you will be treated to the marvels of long elevated roads, including the Penchala, Bukit Lanjan, and Segambut viaducts. Furthermore, take a moment to see our main headquarters of Persada PLUS at the Subang interchange as you make your way across the spectacular scenery of the Kuala Lumpur skyline.

Seremban-Port Dickson Highway (SPDH)

Built with the aim of reducing the travel distance from Mambau in Seremban to Port Dickson, the 23 km-long Seremban-Port Dickson Highway (SPDH) expressway was opened to the public in 1998, providing an alternative route to the main federal road in Negeri Sembilan, known for its challenging terrain.

Like other expressways operated by PLUS, the SPDH is equipped with live traffic monitoring by our Traffic Monitoring Centre (TMC), allowing you to prepare for the road ahead. Whether on holiday with loved ones or traveling alone on business, we are ready to ensure your safety.
ย
Take the time to soak in the urban, countryside, and coastal vibes as you traverse SPDH’s dual 2-lane road. The road showcases the diverse and picturesque landscape that is the mainstay of Negeri Sembilan and Peninsular Malaysia as a whole.

North-South Expressway Central Link (NSECL)

The North-South Expressway Central Link (NSECL), also popularly known as Expressway Lingkaran Tengah (ELITE), serves as a critical connection within the North-South Expressway (NSE). It ensures a seamless and uninterrupted journey for both northbound and southbound travellers, allowing them to bypass the congestion of the city of Kuala Lumpur.ย

Completed in 1997, the 63km expressway connects the New Klang Valley Expressway (NKVE) at Shah Alam Interchange to the NSE at Nilai North Interchange. It is a popular route for travellers heading to the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) and the administrative capital of Putrajaya.ย ย ย

As you move along the expressway, you will see the ELITE Karting Speedway Circuit, Malaysia’s first expressway go-kart circuit, located near the USJ Overhead Bridge Restaurant.ย

Malaysia-Singapore Second Link (LINKEDUA)

The Malaysiaโ€”Singapore Second Link, also known as LINKEDUA, was opened in 1998. It connects Singapore and Johor in Malaysia and was constructed to address the growing congestion on the causeway, easing the burden placed upon motorists commuting between the two countries.

ย

You can access the 47-kilometre dual-three-lane highway, which includes a 1.92 km-long bridge crossing the Straits of Johor, by exiting the Northโ€“South Expressway (NSE) at Senai North Interchange. This interchange links Tanjung Kupang in Johor to Tuas in Singapore. Traveling on LINKEDUA will take less time than using the causeway due to smoother traffic in both directions.ย

Customs, Immigration, and Quarantine complex on both sides of the coast complements the bridge section of LINKEDUA. Should you have concerns regarding the bridge’s capacity, take comfort in knowing it was designed to accommodate up to
200,000 vehicles a day.

Butterworth-Kulim Expressway (BKE)

The 17 km Butterworthโ€“Kulim Expressway (BKE) connects Butterworth in Penang with Lunas in Kedah, enhancing regional connectivity and facilitating smoother transportation between these two economically emerging urban settlements.
ย
Once again, your safety is our main priority in our expressways. Equipped with SOS emergency phones and a dedicated motorcycle lane, you can travel easily, knowing we are ready to assist you in emergencies on the BKE.
ย
Completed in 1996, BKEโ€™s dual two-lane road opens up against the pastoral beauty of paddy fields alongside undulating cut-and-fill slopes as it goes through the industrial estates and developing Penang and Kedah residential areas.

Penang Bridge

In 1985, the Penang Bridge was officially opened to the public. It is 13.5 kilometres long and provides a vital link connecting Penang Island and Perai on the mainland of West Malaysia. Born out of practicality and noble ideas by Malaysia’s founding fathers, the Penang Bridge remains one of the country’s main technical marvels.
ย
ย
The Penang Bridge is a dual two-lane road toll bridge. It was the first and, until 2014, the only road connection between the peninsula and the island. In 2009, the entire bridge was widened to six lanes. For your safety on the road, the bridge has an SOS emergency phone, traffic CCTV, and a Variable Message Sign (VMS) installed at all locations along the bridge.
ย
ย
While on the Penang Bridge, enjoy the blue sky reflected on the waters of the Penang Strait, a sight for you to behold as you move through the iconic suspension arches synonymous with the island state.
