PLUS TERUSKAN DOMINASI SUKAN KERJA RAYA MALAYSIA

 - Kontinjen PLUS muncul Juara Keseluruhan buat kali ke-13 berturut-turut

 Kontinjen PLUS Malaysia Berhad (PLUS) terus mendominasi Kejohanan Sukan Kerja Raya apabila muncul sebagai Juara Keseluruhan temasya sukan industri lebuhraya negara itu buat kali ke-13 berturut-turut di Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM), Sintok baru-baru ini.

Anjuran Kelab Sukan & Kebajikan Kementerian Kerja Raya dan Persatuan Syarikat-Syarikat Konsesi Lebuhraya Malaysia (PSKLM), Kejohanan Sukan Kerja Raya kali ini disertai oleh 26 kontinjen daripada Kementerian Kerja Raya, Jabatan Kerja Raya, syarikat-syarikat konsesi lebuhraya, syarikat penyelenggaraan jalan raya dan lain-lain lagi. Pada kejohanan sukan tersebut, kira-kira 1,600 atlet telah bersaing di dalam 18 acara sukan bermula 7 hingga 11 September di UUM.

Kontinjen PLUS yang dibarisi oleh 160 atlet meneruskan dominasi Sukan Kerja Raya apabila membawa pulang 4 pingat emas, 7 perak dan 1 gangsa. Ia merupakan pencapaian yang lebih baik berbanding temasya yang sama pada tahun 2018 yang berlangsung di Ipoh.

 Chef-de-Mission merangkap Presiden Kelab PLUS Malaysia, Mohd Yusuf Abd Aziz berkata, "Kami hanya mempunyai tempoh kira-kira satu bulan untuk membuat persediaan bagi kejohanan kali ini dan perlu membuat perancangan yang teliti untuk menghimpun Warga PLUS yang bertugas di utara, selatan, tengah termasuklah Pantai Timur. Kami bersyukur kerana semua atlet menunjukkan komitmen dan semangat yang cukup tinggi. Pengurusan PLUS juga memberikan sokongan yang padu kepada kontinjen ini sepanjang tempoh latihan dan kejohanan ini. Alhamdulillah, misi untuk mengekalkan gelaran Juara Keseluruhan tercapai."

Kontinjen PLUS menggungguli Sukan Kerja Raya sejak kejohanan sukan ini mula diperkenalkan pada tahun 1999.

Kontinjen yang diberikan gelaran "Highway Star" ini merangkul 4 pingat emas menerusi acara Bola Jaring, Karom, Tenpin Boling (Lelaki) dan Boling Padang manakala 7 pingat perak menerusi acara Sepak Takraw, Futsal Wanita, Catur, Tenpin Boling (Wanita), Mountain Bike, Ping Pong dan Dart serta 1 pingat gangsa menerusi acara Bola Tampar.

Temasya sukan dwitahunan ini telah dirasmikan oleh Menteri Kanan Kerja Raya, Dato' Sri Haji Fadillah Haji Yusof manakala perasmian penutup disempurnakan oleh Dato' Wira Wan Ahmad Uzir Bin Haji Wan Sulaiman, Ketua Setiausaha Kementerian Kerja Raya Malaysia. Turut hadir pada kedua-dua majlis tersebut ialah Pengarah Urusan PLUS, Datuk Azman Ismail selaku penaung Kelab PLUS Malaysia dan Ketua Pegawai Operasi PLUS, Datuk Zakaria Ahmad Zabidi selaku penasihat Kelab PLUS Malaysia dan Presiden PSKLM.

Sukan Kerja Raya bertujuan untuk meningkatkan persahabatan, dan rangkaian di kalangan warga Kementerian, agensi dan syarikat-syarikat konsesi menerusi sukan, di samping menggalakkan gaya hidup yang sihat.

PLUS CONTINUES TO DOMINATE MALAYSIAN HIGHWAY GAMES

- PLUS contingent emerged as Overall Champion for the 13th time in a row

 The PLUS Malaysia Berhad (PLUS) contingent continues to dominate the Highway Games when it emerged as the Overall Champion of the Malaysian Highway Games for the 13th time in a row at Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM), Sintok recently.

The Games, organized by Ministry of Works Sports & Welfare Club and the Association of Malaysian Highway Concession Companies (PSKLM), was participated by 26 contingents from the Ministry of Works, the Public Works Department, highway concession companies, road maintenance companies and others. The 13th edition of the Highway Games saw more than 1,600 athletes competed in 18 sports events from September 7th to 11th at UUM.

The PLUS contingent of 160 athletes continued to dominate the Highway Games when they brought home 4 gold, 7 silver and 1 bronze medals, an improvement from the 2018 Highway Games held in Ipoh in 2018.

 PLUS' Chef-de-Mission and Kelab PLUS Malaysia President, Mohd Yusuf Abd Aziz said, "We only have a month to prepare and strategize for the Games and had to quickly gather Warga PLUS stationed in the north, south and central including the East Coast. We are grateful that our athletes showed high levels of commitment and enthusiasm. We have good and strong support from the Management team throughout the preparations and centralised trainings. Alhamdulillah, the mission to retain the Overall Champion title was achieved."

The PLUS contingent has been dominating the Highway Games ever since it was first introduced in 1999.

Nicknamed the "Highway Stars", the PLUS Contingent brought home 4 gold medals through Netball, Carom, Tenpin Bowling (Men) and Lawn Bowls events while the Sepak Takraw, Women's Futsal, Chess, Tenpin Bowling (Women), Mountain Bike, Table Tennis and Darts teams contributed 7 silver medals. The Men's Volleyball team won the bronze medal.

This biennial Games was launched by the Senior Minister of Works, Dato' Sri Haji Fadillah Haji Yusof while the closing ceremony was officiated by Dato' Wira Wan Ahmad Uzir Bin Haji Wan Sulaiman, Secretary General of the Ministry of Works. Also present at both events were the PLUS Managing Director, Datuk Azman Ismail as the patron of Kelab PLUS Malaysia and the Chief Operating Officer of PLUS, Datuk Zakaria Ahmad Zabidi as the Kelab PLUS Malaysia Advisor and the President of PSKLM.

The Highway Games is aimed at fostering goodwill and friendship amongst the Highway Industry players and workforce through sports while promoting a healthy lifestyle.
