Our Board of Directors are experienced and committed individuals who bring a wide range of expertise. With their broad range of skills, experience and knowledge, they effectively oversee the Group's business activities.
Currently, the Board has eight Directors comprising of one executive member and seven non-executive members.
Dato’ Mohamad Nasir Ab. LatifIndependent Non-Executive Chairman
Dato' Mohamad Nasir Ab. Latif was appointed to the Board of PLUS Malaysia Berhad on 31 December 2013 and was named Chairman on 27 June 2019.
He graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Science (Economics) from Universiti Sains Malaysia and obtained a Certified Diploma in Accounting and Finance from the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants in 1996. He also holds a Master of Science in Investment Analysis from the University of Stirling, United Kingdom in 1999.
He was the Deputy Chief Executive Officer (Investment) of the Employees Provident Fund and prior to that, held positions as State Enforcement Officer (1990-1995), Senior Research Officer, Manager and Senior Manager in the Investment and Economics Research Department (1995-2003) and General Manager of the International Equity Investment Department (July 2009-2013).
Apart from PLUS Malaysia Berhad, Dato' Mohamad Nasir currently a Board member of United Plantations Berhad, RHB Bank Berhad, Malaysian Resources Corporation Berhad, Yinson Holdings Berhad and Kumpulan Wang Persaraan Diperbadankan.
Datuk Nik Airina Nik Jaffar Managing Director
Dato’ Mohd Izani GhaniNon-Independent Non-Executive Director
Dato' Mohd Izani Ghani was appointed Executive Director of UEM Group Berhad (“UEM Group”) on 1 January 2019 and re-designated as Managing Director on 1 August 2019.
He has over 29 years of investment and management experience and prior to joining UEM Group, Dato’ Mohd Izani was the Executive Director, Investments at Khazanah Nasional Berhad (“Khazanah”) where he oversaw its Turkey Regional Office. He was formerly Khazanah’s Chief Financial Officer where under his leadership, it issued many landmark sukuk transactions including exchangeable and Social Impact Sukuks. He had also previously served at Putrajaya Holdings Sdn Bhd and Renong Group.
Dato’ Mohd Izani currently sits on the Board of UEM Group as well as UEM Group of Companies including UEM Sunrise Berhad, UEM Edgenta Berhad, Cement Industries of Malaysia Berhad (“CIMA”), PLUS Malaysia Berhad, Projek Lebuhraya Usahasama Berhad, PLUS Expressways International Berhad, UEM Builders Berhad, Konsortium ProHAWK Sdn Bhd and Samsung C&T Corporation UEM Construction JV Sdn Bhd. He is also a Member of Yayasan UEM Board of Trustees and a Member of Kolej Yayasan UEM (“KYUEM”) Board of Governors. In addition, Dato’ Mohd Izani is a Board Member of International Centre for Education in Islamic Finance (“INCEIF”) and Institut Jantung Negara Sdn Bhd (“IJN”).
Dato’ Mohd Izani is an alumnus of the London School of Economics and Political Science (“LSE”), class of 1991. He subsequently obtained his professional qualification from Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (“ACCA”) and was conferred fellowship in 2000. He is a member of Malaysian Institute of Accountants (“MIA”) and Chartered Institute of Islamic Finance Professionals (“CIIF”).
Dato’ Noorazman Abd AzizIndependent Non-Executive Director
Dato’ Noorazman Abd Aziz was appointed to the Board of PLUS Malaysia Berhad on 1 October 2018.
Dato’ Noorazman obtained his BSc (Finance) degree from Louisiana State University, USA. He has over 37 years of experience in banking & finance, investments and capital markets having served as Executive Director, Investments in Khazanah Nasional Berhad, Managing Director of Fajr Capital Ltd (a Khazanah investee company) and held key positions in Citigroup, Bank Islam Malaysia Berhad, Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange and Labuan Offshore Financial Services Authority (LOFSA), to name a few.
In 2005, Dato’ Noorazman was named as the winner of the first Asian Banker Achievement Award for Islamic Finance. He is a practicing member of the Association of Chartered Islamic Finance Professionals (ACIFP) as well as a member of the Investment Panel of Kumpulan Wang Amanah Persaraan (KWAP) and the Australian Institute of Company Directors. He also sits on the Limited Partner Advisory Committee (LPAC) for Ancora Fund Management Co. in Indonesia and Meridiam Infrastructure Fund Management Co. in France.
Apart from PLUS Malaysia Berhad, Dato’ Noorazman also sits on the Board of UEM Sunrise Berhad, UEM Edgenta Berhad, Kumpulan Perangsang Selangor Berhad, CTOS Digital Berhad and PT Lintas Marga Sedaya in Indonesia where he is a Vice President Commissioner.
He currently serves as Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Yayasan UEM, the philanthropic arm of UEM Group Berhad, and Chairman of Board of Trustees of INCEIF (International Centre for Education in Islamic Finance) Endowment Fund.
Wong Shu HsienNon-Independent Non-Executive Director
Wong Shu Hsien was appointed to the Board of PLUS Malaysia Berhad on 13 February 2012. She holds a Degree in Economics from Cambridge University and a Masters in Economics from the London School of Economics.
She is a Chartered Financial Analyst. She joined Khazanah Nasional Berhad in February 2005 from Bina Fikir Sdn Bhd. Previously she worked in a private equity firm called Emerging Markets Partnership, the Principal Adviser to AIG Infrastructure Fund II. Prior to that, Wong worked as a research analyst. She is currently Director of Investments at Khazanah Nasional Berhad.
Besides PLUS Malaysia Berhad, Wong also sits on the Board of UEM Group Berhad, Malaysia Airports Holding Berhad, Malaysia Aviation Group Berhad and Malaysia Airlines Berhad.
Mohamad Hafiz KassimNon-Independent Non-Executive Director
Mohamad Hafiz Kassim was appointed to the Board of PLUS Malaysia Berhad on 1 June 2017. Having joined the Employees Provident Fund Board (EPF) in 2008, he is currently the Chief Financial Officer of EPF. He was previously the Head of Capital Market Department since April 2017 that manages the EPF's Fixed Income (Internal & External) portfolios and Corporate Finance activities. Prior to his current role, Mohamad Hafiz headed the Private Markets and Private Equity departments.
Mohamad Hafiz has more than 20 years experience in investment analysis, private equity investing, accounting and auditing. Prior to joining the EPF, Mohamad Hafiz worked at Daiwa Capital, PricewaterhouseCoopers and TM Berhad.
Mohamad Hafiz is a graduate in Accounting and Finance from the London School of Economics. He is a fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants and a CFA charterholder. He is a Board member of PLUS Berhad, QSR Brands (M) Holdings Sdn. Bhd and SMW Environment Holdings Sdn Bhd. In addition, he sits on the Advisory Board of several private equity and real estate funds.
Lim Tian HuatIndependent Non-Executive Director
Lim Tian Huat was appointed to the Board of PLUS Malaysia Berhad on 1 March 2012.
Lim is the Managing Partner of Rodgers Reidy & Co., Chartered Accountants and a licensed auditor and liquidator. He was previously a partner of Ernst & Young from 2002 to 2009, prior to that, partner of Arthur Andersen & Co. from 1990 to 2002.
has served as Commissioner to the United Nations Compensation Commission and as member of the Corporate Law Reform Committee (CLRC) under the purview of the Companies Commission of Malaysia. He co-authored a book entitled "The Law and Practice of Corporate Receivership in Malaysia and Singapore".
Lim is the founding President of the Insolvency Practitioners Association of Malaysia (IPAM). He is a member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants, Member of the Malaysian Institute of Certified Public Accountants and a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants. He holds a BA Economics (Honours) degree. Besides PLUS Malaysia Berhad, Lim is also a Director of UEM Sunrise Berhad, Malaysia Building Society Berhad, MajuPerak Holdings Berhad, Malaysia Deposit Insurance Corporation and Anglo-Eastern Plantations PLC. He is also a Director of Bank of Yingkou, China.
Encik Azhar AhmadNon-Independent Non-Executive Director
Encik Azhar Ahmad (“Encik Azhar”), has been appointed as non-executive director of the Company and PLUS Berhad effective 6 March 2023 in place of Puan Rohaya. Encik Azhar, 53, is currently the Head of Capital Market Department, Investment Division, EPF and also a director of IJM Corporation Berhad..
He started his career with the EPF in 1995 and held several positions in various fields such as investment & economic research, debt capital market, fixed income investment, corporate finance, fund management and private debt fund. Prior to his current post, he was the Head of External Fund Manager Department, Investment Division, EPF. He is currently the Head of Capital Market Department, Investment Division, EPF (since 1 December 2019), responsible for the fixed income investment (loan and bonds) as well as Private Debt Fund (PDF) across domestic and global market.
Encik Azhar is a Member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA) and holds a Bachelor in Accountancy, Mara University of Technology Malaysia and Diploma in Accountancy, Mara Institute of Technology Malaysia.
