INVESTIGATIONS BEING CARRIED OUT WITH AUTHORITIES AND TNB

Georgetown, 23rd  February 2021 :- PLUS Malaysia Berhad (PLUS) assures its Penang Bridge customers that the overall integrity of the Jambatan Pulau Pinang is intact and safe for public use, despite an earlier TNB cable fire incident, located under KM3.2 of its bridge yesterday.

The fire was successfully extinguished at 7.30pm last night and no one was injured in the incident.

PLUS confirms that the right lanes on both bounds will remain closed for a few days at the fire incident location. This is to facilitate investigations carried out jointly with TNB, the Fire & Rescue Department (Bomba) and the Police (PDRM).

PLUS will continue to update the public via electronic message boards at strategic locations along the highway as well PLUSTrafik Twitter and other social media platforms on traffic  status from time to time.
