- Pengguna lebuh raya masih perlu menyentuh kad Touch ‘n Go di lorong tol di plaza tol untuk rekod perjalanan, tetapi tiada bayaran tol akan dikenakan
PLUS Malaysia Berhad (PLUS) menyambut baik inisiatif pemberian tol percuma kepada rakyat yang menggunakan perkhidmatan rangkaian Lebuhraya PLUS pada 20 Januari dan 21 Januari bersempena dengan sambutan Tahun Baharu Cina sepertimana yang diumumkan oleh YAB Perdana Menteri Malaysia, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, pada 18 Januari.
Pada masa yang sama, PLUS menjangkakan sebahagian besar daripada pengguna lebuh raya akan merebut peluang untuk menikmati faedah tol percuma ini dan menyusun jadual perjalanan balik kampung berdasarkan tarikh-tarikh tol percuma tersebut.
“Oleh itu, kami menasihatkan orang ramai supaya membuat persiapan rapi dan menjangkakan tempoh perjalanan di lebuh raya mungkin lebih panjang kali ini terutamanya pada 2 hari istimewa yang diumumkan oleh YAB Perdana Menteri,” kata Ketua Pegawai Operasi PLUS, Datuk Zakaria Ahmad Zabidi.
Bagi menguruskan lonjakan trafik ekoran pengumuman tersebut, PLUS juga menyatakan komitmennya untuk mengambil segala langkah yang sewajarnya untuk membantu orang ramai pada dua hari tersebut.
“Pihak PLUS akan mengambil langkah-langkah yang perlu dan kami telahpun mengatur pelbagai persediaan rapi melibatkan aspek perjalanan di lebuh raya, di plaza tol dan juga kawasan-kawasan rehat,” jelas Datuk Zakaria.
Pada masa yang sama, PLUS mengambil peluang ini untuk menjelaskan bagaimana pemberian tol percuma tersebut dilaksanakan di rangkaian lebuh rayanya:-
- Sekiranya pengguna memilih untuk menggunakan kad Touch ‘n Go atau SmartTAG, mereka masih perlu menyentuh kad Touch ‘n Go mereka di lorong tol di plaza tol untuk rekod perjalanan. Namun begitu, tiada bayaran tol akan dikenakan atau ditolak daripada kad Touch ‘n Go tersebut.
- Sekiranya pengguna memilih untuk menggunakan RFID, mereka masih perlu masuk dan keluar dari lebuh raya menggunakan lorong RFID yang disediakan. Sepertimana kad Touch ‘n Go dan SmartTAG, tiada bayaran tol dikenakan atau ditolak daripada eWallet Touch ‘n Go mereka.
- Pengguna lebuh raya akan menikmati tol percuma ketika melalui plaza tol keluar sepanjang tempoh yang ditetapkan.
- Bagi pengguna kad Touch ‘n Go, mereka dinasihatkan supaya memeriksa status kad Touch ‘n Go sebelum perjalanan mereka dengan Touch ‘n Go Sdn Bhd. Ini adalah bagi mengelakkan kesesakan di plaza tol jika terdapat pengguna menggunakan kad Touch ‘n Go yang tidak aktif dan telah dinyahaktif.
“Pada masa yang sama, kami mengambil peluang ini untuk menasihatkan orang ramai sekali lagi yang ingin bergerak masa hari-hari puncak, terutamanya pada 2 hari tersebut supaya mengikuti jadual Cadangan Waktu Perjalanan (TTA) yang telah dikeluarkan sebelum ini. Rancang perjalanan anda dengan teliti untuk mengurangkan kesesakan, pastikan kenderaan berada dalam keadaan baik dan mendapat rehat secukupnya sebelum memulakan perjalanan,” jelas beliau.
PLUS juga mengesyorkan penggunaan Aplikasi Waze atau Google Maps semasa pemanduan untuk mendapatkan status trafik terkini sepanjang musim perayaan ini.
PLUS WELCOMES TOLL WAIVER ANNOUNCEMENT IN CONJUNCTION WITH CHINESE NEW YEAR
- Beginning from 12:01am, 20 January (Friday) to 11:59pm, 21 January (Saturday)
- Highway users are required to tap their Touch ‘n Go card at the reader at the toll lanes for travel records, but no toll fare will be charged
PLUS Malaysia Berhad (PLUS) welcomes the move to give toll waiver to the rakyat plying the PLUS highway network on January 20 and January 21 in conjunction with the Chinese New Year celebration as announced on 18th January by YAB Prime Minister of Malaysia, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
PLUS anticipates that most highway users will seize the opportunity to enjoy the toll waiver and plan their Balik Kampung travels based on the designated toll waiver dates.
“Therefore, we advise the public to plan their journey carefully and to anticipate that their journey back to their hometowns may take longer especially during the 2 special days announced by the YAB Prime Minister,” said PLUS Chief Operating Officer, Datuk Zakaria Ahmad Zabidi.
To manage the surge in traffic, PLUS is committed to take the appropriate measures to help highway customers throughout their highway journey.
“PLUS will take the necessary steps to manage the traffic onslaught and we have put in place various measures on the highway mainline, toll plazas and the rest areas,” explained Datuk Zakaria.
At the same time, PLUS takes this opportunity to explain how the free toll is implemented on its highway network:-
- Touch ‘n Go card or SmartTAG users are still required to tap their Touch ‘n Go card at the reader at the toll lane for travel records. However, no toll fare will be charged or deducted from the Touch ‘n Go card.
- For RFID users, they are to enter and exit the highway via the dedicated RFID lanes. Similar to the Touch ‘n Go and SmartTAG customers, no toll fare will be charged or deducted from their Touch ‘n Go e-Wallet.
- Highway users will enjoy the toll waiver when they pass through the exit toll plazas during the stipulated period.
- For Touch ‘n Go card users, they are advised to check the status of their Touch ‘n Go card with Touch ‘n Go Sdn Bhd prior to their journey. This is to prevent them from using Touch ‘n Go cards that are dormant and have been deactivated.
“PLUS also advises those who are planning to travel during peak days, especially during the 2 designated days to follow the Travel Time Advisory (TTA) schedule that was recently issued. We encourage them to carefully plan their journey, ensure that their vehicles are in good condition and get plenty of rest before they drive,” he explained.
PLUS also recommends use of Waze or Google Maps during journeys to get the latest traffic updates during this festive period.
