NO LANE CLOSURES ON PLUS HIGHWAY BETWEEN 21st DECEMBER AND 1st JANUARY 2019

There will be no more lane closures for road maintenance on the highways to facilitate smoother traffic flow on the highways during the upcoming year-end holidays between 21st December and 1st January.

However, some lane closures may have be carried out during the designated period to facilitate urgent pavement repair works to ensure safety of highway customers.

“The monsoon season has caused some damages to our highway pavement. Therefore, urgent repair works has to be initiated to prevent further damage to the pavement and pose a threat to the safety of our customers,” explained PLUS Chief Operating Officer, Zakaria Ahmad Zabidi.

This requires some lanes at several stretches of the highway has to be temporarily closed.

“Nevertheless, we will take all the necessary steps to reduce congestion and minimize disruption to the traffic flow at the affected stretches,” Zakaria said.

As such, drivers are advised to plan their journey based on mobile applications such as Waze and Google Map, follow the PLUStrafik twitter or contact PLUSLine at 1800 88 0000 for the latest traffic updates on the PLUS highway.

“Traffic information is also relayed to drivers via electronic message boards which are placed at strategic locations along the highway,” Zakaria added.

KERJA-KERJA PENYELENGGARAAN JALAN DI LEBUH RAYA PLUS DIHENTIKAN SEMENTARA

DI ANTARA 21 DISEMBER 2018 HINGGA 1 JANUARI 2019

Bagi membantu melancarkan perjalanan trafik sempena cuti hujung tahun, semua kerja-kerja penyelenggaraan yang memerlukan penutupan lorong di Lebuh raya PLUS akan dihentikan sementara di antara 21 Disember 2018 hingga 1 Januari 2019.

Walau bagaimanapun, penutupan lorong mungkin terpaksa dilaksanakan dari masa ke masa dalam tempoh tersebut untuk kerja-kerja pembaikan jalan secara segera demi keselamatan orang ramai.

”Musim tengkujuh yang melanda negara pada ketika kadangkala menyebabkan kerosakan pada permukaan jalan di lebuh raya. Justeru, kerja-kerja pembaikan perlu dilaksanakan secara segera bagi mengelakkan kerosakan yang lebih teruk pada permukaan jalan,” jelas Ketua Pegawai Operasi PLUS Malaysia Berhad (PLUS), Zakaria Ahmad Zabidi.

Menurut Zakaria, kerja-kerja pembaikan jalan segera ini memerlukan PLUS menutup sebahagian lorong di kawasan yang terbabit.

“Namun begitu, PLUS akan mengambil segala langkah yang perlu dan praktikal bagi mengurangkan kesan penutupan jalan terhadap perjalanan pengguna lebuh raya,” kata beliau.

Sehubungan dengan itu, PLUS menasihatkan pemandu supaya merancang perjalanan mereka menggunakan aplikasi mudah alih seperti Waze dan Google Map, mengikuti laman twitter@plustrafik atau menghubungi talian PLUSLine di 1800 88 0000 untuk mendapatkan maklumat trafik terkini di lebuh raya PLUS.

“Maklumat trafik turut dimaklumkan kepada pelanggan menerusi papantanda elektronik di lokasi-lokasi strategik di sepanjang lebuh raya,” tambah Zakaria.
